Cycling and Downhill

Enormous destination for everything with 2 wheels. The tour de france has come through Briancon many times because of the world renowned cycling cols.....Galibier, Lautaret, Izoard to name a few. For the mountain bikers megga descents can be done off road you just have to decide do you ride up off road, up the col or use the ski lifts! The town worships cyclists so all will receive a warm welcome. Serre Chevalier resort is built for downhill too with both natural and man-made bike parks in Villeneuve, Monetiere, and Montgenevre all on the doorstep.
The River and Lakes

Briancon is a great place for all mountain sports especially those on the river. The Durance races along the Serre Chevalier Valley and through Briancon at a grade 4 velocity. Those armed with kayaks, rafts, and other floating devices are bound to have a great trip. Briancon also offers beautiful mountain lakes to chill out and picnic, as well as sky diving, paragliding, zip lining, mountaineering.
